Laptop battery chargers, otherwise known as power adapters are crucial and the only way to make your laptop operate without having to have it be plugged into an outlet all of the time.  The batteries in the laptop generally don’t last for more than a few hours but tend to last more when and if you get the proper charger.  Here are a few tips to help.

You used to be able to only purchase these chargers from the laptop computer companies who built your computer.  Nowadays these chargers are duplicated, created and sold individually by private companies and individuals outside of the brand name computer names we all know.  They deal in various ways to charge your laptop batteries.  You might find a car battery charger or a solar battery charger for your laptop.  This has resulted in some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that all of this new competition has really driven the prices to an all time low.  There are some really obscure websites that sell these chargers for under $10.  Most of these companies all sell their products online and usually through eBay or Amazon.  Just by doing a simple search though you will see plenty of other websites dealing in various computer parts and often have these laptop battery chargers for cheap as well.

You will not likely find these cheap chargers in your local area though.  That is unless you know someone who deals with computers specifically and usually it will just be a used or leftover part from an old laptop.

The drawback to all of this competition is the fact that you really don’t know what you are going to get.  I have bought a few of these battery chargers from different places and have received products that have only lasted a matter of a few weeks.  The cords just seem to be really frail and fragile and the adapters burnt out rapidly.

Since you would be ordering from an individual, you aren’t going to be 100% sure that you won’t just get ripped off and receive no money at all.  That’s why it is always wise to only buy from a verified seller and only through websites that are trustworthy an offer refunds and guarantees.  Im not saying that there aren’t trustworthy individuals or private companies who deal with the laptop battery chargers, there are, just be careful and don’t expect much in the way of quality.  You will though most likely get the charger fast and for cheap.

I always recommend only buying the laptop battery chargers through the actual company of your laptop.  So Apple, HP, Lenovo, Acer, and Dell would all be verified and trusted sellers that you know you are going to get the right charger for your laptop.  Buying and using the wrong one can ultimately ruin your laptop so you want to be extra careful of what you buy.
